You can literally customize your resolution on your screen, no more dictations by your operating system! if you want 1220x1440 you can do that as well! no one's gonna tell you what to do anymore with your resolution with SwitchResXĬonclusion about SwitchResX is that it's easy to use, and will help you if you need a custom resolution for viewing pleasures, you don't need to worry with SwitchResX because they have you covered with that, if you need custom colors or resolution they can do that for you, it's easy to use and you don't have to worry about stupid gimmicks with SwitchResX. It's very easy to use, allows you to change colors as well for your eyes to view better without being super stressed out. You can also put your screen upside down with SwitchResX if you need to view an image that's upside down which makes it very awesome for unique situations you might put yourself into. SwitchResX allows you to use the proper resolution for your viewing pleasures, it makes it so it's easier on your eyes and you don't have to worry about your eyes being hurt by the screen anymore, SwitchResX is the best way to alleviate those problems you have with resolutions being dictated by your computers operating system. You can mirror your screen as well with this awesome program. SwitchResX allows you to match your resolution to whatever program you might be having to use, you can also make it match your TV screen if you're going to put your monitor onto your TV screen for big display. Adding a display timing does require a change to the EDID.ĬRU for Windows can create Windows EDID overrides.SwitchResX allows you to dictate how you use your screen and coloration and resolution without having your computer dictate it for you. For example, adding a scaled mode does not require a change to the EDID (and in fact, an EDID does not contain scaled modes). For example, your two LG UltraFine 5K displays are both DisplayProductID-5b11 but have different dates: DisplayYearManufacture-2019-DisplayWeekManufacture-3 and DisplayYearManufacture-2019-DisplayWeekManufacture-4.Ī macOS display override does not always contain an EDID override. SwitchResX uses vendor/manufacture date - so it may be possible that a display override created for one display does not apply to another display of the same type if their dates are different. In macOS, a display override is per vendor/product or per vendor/manufacture date depending on the name of the display override. You may wish to change the name of the display in the EDID override to include the port that it's connected to. So its useful to have a copy of the EDID override on disk so you can reapply it when you move the display. So if you move the display to a different port, then you need to create another EDID override. In Windows, an EDID override is per vendor/product and GPU port. It should be able to show if Nvidia puts an EDID override in the Registry. Or you can use Monitor Asset Manager moninfo.exe which should be able to list all EDID overrides that exist in the Registry. I suppose you can find out by seeing if Nvidia puts the EDID override in the same Registry location that CRU uses (use RegEdit to view the Registry). I don't know if Windows EDID overrides are the same as Nvidia EDID overrides. The Club-3d CAC-1332 and similar adapters from SIIG and others converts HDMI 2.0 + USB 2.0 to USB-C.Ĭlick to expand.CRU for Windows can create Windows EDID overrides. Such a utility would have the ability to alter the max DisplayPort link rate in order to accomodate two HBR2 displays over Thunderbolt 2 or two HBR3 displays over Thunderbolt 3 (as Apple does for the Apple Pro Display XDR for GPUs that don't support DSC). In this case it would be useful to have a utility to setup the correct DisplayPort tunnelling paths over Thunderbolt. If the EDID is for the right half then that would explain why it's not working. I believe the connection needed for 4K is the left half. The EDID will indicate the serial number of the display and whether the connection is for the left half or right half of the display. Each LG UltraFine 5K can have two DisplayPort connections and each connection has its own EDID. Then we can see if the correct DisplayPort connection is being made. I suppose you could extract the EDIDs using CRU. macOS or Linux can tell you what speed a Thunderbolt connection is. If the cable can do 4K then it's a pure USB-C cable that can also do 20 Gbps Thunderbolt.

Or teachers can assign specific books based on reading level or by topic to get students investigating a particular subject or literature theme. Teachers can assign a theme (for example, biographies of important people in history) and let students find and read material on that theme. They can build their own collections, rate what they've read, and then report back to the teacher offline with a summary or a reflection on what they learned or liked about the book. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that almost all people ages 60 and older be vaccinated against shingles, whether or not they had chicken pox in their youth or have had shingles before, says Dr. The same study reported an increased risk for heart attacks in the three months after shingles, but the additional risk dissipated after six months. A PLOS Medicine study that tracked about 67,000 people ages 65 and older who were newly diagnosed with shingles found that stroke risk more than doubled in the first week after the shingles diagnosis. When the nerve to the ear is affected, it can permanently damage hearing or balance. Pain and rash near an eye can cause permanent eye damage and requires an urgent ophthalmological exam. Many people are left with an itchy area from their shingles, which can be as disabling as chronic pain. This often-disabling pain can last several months to a year. Pain that lingers in the area of a healed shingles rash is called postherpetic neuralgia. Rapid treatment with one of three antiviral drugs, acyclovir (Zovirax), valacyclovir (Valtrex), or famciclovir (Famvir), can shorten a shingles attack and reduce the risk of serious damage, such as: “But in fact a shingles rash should alert people, especially in middle or old age, to seek immediate medical help,” says Dr. Many people have the mistaken impression that, like poison ivy, shingles is a nuisance rash that fades on its own. However, it is possible to have rashes that are so mild they’re not even noticed. You also may feel sick or fatigued, with a slight fever or headache. Fluid-filled blisters develop, break, and crust over during and a few weeks after an outbreak. Most cases of shingles cause severe pain and itching, and can leave scars. The most common locations are the chest, back, or stomach, or above one eye. The rash often appears on only one side of your body. It then travels along a nerve to trigger a rash in the skin connected to that nerve. When your immunity weakens from normal aging or from illnesses or medications, the virus can re-emerge. After the telltale spots of chickenpox vanish, the virus lies dormant in your nerve cells near the spinal cord and brain. The same varicella-zoster virus that causes chickenpox also causes shingles. Anne Louise Oaklander, director of the Nerve Unit at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital. “In fact, one in three is predicted to get shingles during their lifetime,” says Dr. If you had chickenpox as a kid, there is a good chance you may develop shingles later in life. The only complaint I would have about the tour was it didn’t specify that the majority of the tracks are on the other side of the river. By this time the clouds have burned off and it is a lovely sunny day! Clear blue skies and need for some extra sunblock! There are two types of tracks laid down into the rock next to the Purgatory river–Allosaurus and Brontosaurs! If you want to see the Brontosaurs tracks, be sure to bring river shoes or tennies as you will have to cross the river to see them. Then….the Dinosaur Tracks! This is the largest dinosaur track site in North American and it is very impressive! There is a nice vault toilet here, and we have 1 and 1/2 hours to explore the area, and also have lunch. There are also some old Indian grain grinding impressions in some of the rocks near the road. Our next stop is at a Hole-in-the-Wall type of rock. (You may also hike to some from the Vogel canyon trailhead.-check your map for this area) I will refer to them as petroglyphs, and there are many examples of them throughout the canyon. Our first stop is at some old Indian “pictogrifs”–don’t shoot me, I’m just the translator! This is what our USFS intern called the rock art–since the Indian’s “picked” the images into them with another stone. Pinion Canyon is very beautiful and with all the snow this area had during the past winter, the wildflowers are amazing! All the prickly pear and beavertail cactus are blooming in fuscia, orange and yellow! There are also some vibrant dark purple cactus that I’ve never seen before! I think the spring flowers here may actually rival the mountain flowers, without the Columbines of course! We feel pretty lucky to have gotten into see this area, as access may be done away with in the future.ĭropping down into the canyon with the large rocks that have tumbled onto crazy perches almost makes it look like some places in Utah we’ve been. This includes many family farms and ranches on the southeastern plains all the way to Kansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. This area is currently embroiled in a big hot button issue with the Army’s announcement they will be adding 480,000 acres to their current proving grounds. We have our lunches packed and lots of water! Also many cameras and extra clothing just in case….this is Colorado after all! If you don’t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes! Our day begins with some fast moving low clouds and it looks like rain could be possible. They are the keepers of the keys and unlock the two gates crossing over the Army proving grounds to allow us access via a two track road.Īll participants do have to provide their own high clearance 4-wheel drive vehicle, and should plan for an 8 hour day. The 4×4 access is limited to Saturdays during May, June, September, and October and are led (in our case) by a part-time intern, and a volunteer. You’ll never know it’s here until you come. The track site is open to hikers and mountain bikers year round by means of another trail head at Withers Canyon. I lived for the canyons, I love this.Ĭomanche National Grassland. Here we connect with the secret marvels of nature and history right in our backyard. We try to pick it up and keep this as nice as it was when we found it. This is an area that can be damaged so easily. Going up along the cliff sides you can find a lot of pictographs and just old cave paintings that have been here since who knows when. Where prehistoric sea beds defined an area from just south of La Junta all the way to the Southeastern Colorado border, where the remains of abandoned homesteads testify to the crippling drought of the Dust Bowl era, and where public efforts have transformed the land again into a place of conservation and recreation. This is where I spent most of my childhood growing up, just hiking, swimming, just everything. Part museum, part playground, all built by nature, preserved by those who love it. Over a thousand dinosaur tracks, 40 miles of wagon ruts and pioneer homesteads from the Santa Fe Trail. A land of natural wonders brimming with tales from the past. Canyons, rivers and prairie, abundant with life. |
